Tax Refunds
Professional Review to Maximize Rights

Many people are entitled to tax refunds and are unaware of it. Israel's tax system is complex, and in many cases tax is deducted from a salary or income at a higher rate than required — without anyone informing you. A single professional review can lead to a refund of thousands and even tens of thousands of shekels. We specialize in maximizing tax rights, and work systematically to ensure you get back every shekel owed to you by law.

How Much Money Are You Leaving on the Table?

According to Tax Authority data, hundreds of thousands of Israelis are entitled to tax refunds every year and do not claim them. The main reason: people simply do not know they are owed money. In Israel, there is a legal right to request a tax refund for up to six years back — meaning money owed to you right now can still be claimed.

Important to Know: A tax refund is not a "favor" from the state — it is money you overpaid and are legally entitled to get back. The earlier you check, the more you increase the period for which a refund can be claimed. A tax year that has passed more than six years ago can no longer be refunded.

Frequently Asked Questions – Tax Refunds in Israel

Who is entitled to a tax refund in Israel?

Anyone whose tax deductions during the year were higher than their actual tax liability is entitled to a refund. This frequently occurs due to working for multiple employers, changes in income, unused benefits, or life events such as birth, unemployment, and studies.

How many years back can a tax refund be requested?

A tax refund can be requested for up to six tax years back. That is, in 2026 it is possible to claim refunds for tax years 2020 through 2025 (inclusive). Earlier tax years have already lapsed and can no longer be claimed.

What is tax coordination and when is it needed?

Tax coordination is a procedure in which all income sources are declared to the Tax Authority, so that the tax deducted at each place of employment is calculated correctly. Without tax coordination, employers may deduct the maximum rate of tax.

What is a land appreciation tax refund and how is it received?

Land appreciation tax is paid upon the sale of real estate in Israel. Sometimes the calculation made at the time of the transaction did not account for all allowable deductible expenses, or did not take into consideration the seller's personal circumstances. A reassessment of the calculation can result in a balance due for refund, which is submitted to the Tax Authority as a formal request.

How long does it take to receive the refund?

After the return is submitted and approved by the Tax Authority, the refund is transferred to the bank account generally within three to six months, depending on the volume of requests. We track the status and alert you to any delay.
